Association

Renewables Finland is a wind and solar power industry advocacy organization founded in 1988, which paves the way for Finnish wind and solar power and shares information on current issues in the field.

Advocacy

Renewables Finland promotes wind power and solar power and promotes its benefits and, in accordance with its strategy, nurtures the general acceptability of the sector. Equal treatment of members and impartiality are central to the activities of Finnish renewables.

Renewables Finland does not take a position on matters related to competition between members. The members of the association are equally informed about the legislation being prepared and other issues as quickly as it is appropriate.

The association’s activities are organized on the basis of committees, working groups and a network built around different topics, which provide channels for joint influence. In addition, the member companies of Renewables Finland offer their special expertise when it is needed to support the association’s goals.

The board of Renewables Finland decides on the association’s most important general interest protection topics using the preparation of the committees. In accordance with the committee’s field of specialization, interest monitoring goals for e.g. solar power, onshore wind power, offshore wind power and the electricity grid are prepared. In addition, the Technical Task Force examines and shares information about wind power from a technical point of view, and the new production committee, established in 2023, examines the special issues of the wind power production phase.

The association’s activities are also organized in such a way that, if necessary, it is possible to shift priorities flexibly, and matters critical to the industry that arise unexpectedly are dealt with when the situation and need arise.
